Pedestrian accidents, particularly when a pedestrian is hit while in a crosswalk, are preventable if commercial vehicle drivers and car drivers pay attention to their surroundings. Sometimes, distracted driving (texting and driver, or cell phone use while driving) can lead otherwise safe drivers to be inattentive, leading to pedestrian deaths.
